What to Wear this Season: Spring Staples 2006
Hey Fashionistas! I've been reading your blog for a while and would like to say that I love it! I'm going spring clothes shopping soon, and want to know what wardrobe staples evryone should have for spring. Thanks!
Hey Tappydancer,
Thanks for reading! Spring is definitely on its way, and all good fashionistas are getting ready for it. From where I sit, there aren't a whole lot of new trends this season. Metallics are still very popular, as is the whole bohemian fashion-broomstick skirts and the like. So what's a well-dressed gal to do? Find fun twists on traditional favorites, of course! Some must-haves on my list this year:
A Patterned Skirt. I recently purchased this black and white skirt at the Loft, and I love it! It's feminine and a welcome break from the box pleat skirts everyone is wearing. Those don't work for me at all so I'm pleased to see the trends a little bit more balanced this season. The black and white flowers are a classic motif that you'll be delighted to wear every spring. Black and white seems to be making quite a splash this year--so have fun with a trend that'll make you feel like Audrey Hepburn in Charade!
Looking for something a little more adventurous? Try this green number.
Denim Capris This year's capris are dark and stylish. I'm on my way to Ann Taylor now to buy these pants. They're perfect with strappy sandals for an evening out, or flip-flips for a day on the beach! And speaking of shoes...
Strappy Wedges are going to be big this season. The great thing about these shoes is that you can wear them with long pants without getting the hem caught under your heel. This makes this year's wedges the perfect seasonal transition item-you can wear them with long pants, but also enjoy your pretty new pedicure!
New Accessory Item: Mother of PearlIn my opinion this is going to be a very hot item this year. Mother of pearl is classy and elegant without ever being too flashy. I love these thongs from Ann Taylor and these earrings, available at Macy's. I see them everywhere, but I had some trouble finding them online. Check your local department store.
Hope that helps you all! Have fun!
